Did I shave my legs for this?

Cocoa had yet another surgery this week.  After taking her in for her annual heartworm test at work, the veterinarians made it pretty clear that we needed to have her entropion in her right eye corrected "sooner rather than later." With the holidays behind us, there were no more excuses.  Wednesday, Adam and I dropped her off for the big surgery.

Didn't we already do this surgery? Why, yes, we did! Unfortunately, it was done incorrectly and the condition came back. Boo!

The surgery went very well.  It's only a few days later and I can already tell she is feeling better.  Her eye isn't watering like it used to and she isn't pawing at it (in part due to her cone) like she was before.  And of course, her exuberant energy is back!

Here is Cocoa in October.  You can see how much her eye was rolling in then.  Believe it or not, it even got worse.
And here is Cocoa a few days after her surgery.  Dr. Fitch said it would take up to three to four weeks before all the swelling goes down and the eyelid takes its final shape.

If you've never had a dog go through surgery, they have to shave their front legs to put the IV and blood pressure cuff on - thus the title of the post. :)
